Each person will execute one Core Role and one or multiple Flexible Tasks. In your application, please write which Core Role and which Flexible Tasks have your preference. We will discuss this in the interview.

President

As President, your main task is to manage the board and maintain oversight of what is going on in the organization. You motivate, inspire, and lead the team, so that all board members can perform to the best of their abilities. Rolling up your sleeves? Offering hands-on support? Take decisions when needed? Yes, you can. You’re in charge of setting direction and developing a vision for the year, together with your team. It is up to you to uphold the quality of the programs as well as a line of continuity for United Netherlands as an organization. With regards to the Advisory and Supervisory Boards of United Netherlands, you have a key role in assessing and developing the organization—all the while having your team and programs as a main priority.

Note: speaking Dutch as well as being available to work full-time are requirements for this position.

Financial Manager

As Financial Manager, you carry responsibility for the financial health of UNL; you maintain a precise overview of finances, you sit down with Radboud University to discuss funding, and you take care of participation fees and large expenses of our programs. You ensure correct contracting and receive the authority to make important decisions. You also run the accounting system of the entire organization.

At the start of the year, you establish the budget and throughout the year, it is your job to guard this budget. This responsibility ranges from small expenditures at the supermarket to large expenditures such as booking hotels in the United States for the entire Delegation and board.

Program Manager

As Program Manager, you keep oversight of the different UNL programs to ensure they run smoothly. You are good at planning and at delegating tasks. At the beginning of the year, it is your responsibility to coordinate the setting up of the UNMD and the PSP Fall program, together with your team; you manage the work division so that peak periods in the year are run as efficiently as possible. In the second half of the year, your priorities lie with coordinating the HSP program and the PSP Spring edition. You are someone who easily keeps their head cool in stressful situations and you get excited about the idea of having a birds-eye view on the programs and the direction outlined in the annual plan.

Relations Manager

As Relations Manager, you are the social glue of United Netherlands. From alumni and former PSP participants to trainers and new student organizations, you get everyone excited to become involved with the organization and to remain active within UNL. You easily connect with people, use clear communication, and inspire active participation. You design the promotional material for the organization (e.g., videos, social media posts and posters) and you manage UNL’s online presence. You’re also responsible for our trainers pool, which mainly entails arranging trainers for our three programs. You are also the main contact point for other student organizations on campus when it comes to arranging workshops and representing UNL in Radboud student life.

Academic Manager

Are you an MUN nerd and is high-quality content guaranteed? Yes? Then we are looking for you! As Academic Manager, you get your energy from writing study guides, designing trainings and developing rewarding programs. You review the current content while also arranging interesting guest speakers to take the programs to the next level. You’re the main point of contact for the Senior Board of Studies, the body safeguarding the academic quality of the Delegation. At the start of the year, you’ll work on the content of the UNMD and the Public Speaking Program, while later, you devote more time to improving the High School Program.

Core Tasks: content of programs, communication with the Senior Board of Studies, developing and grading exams and papers of the Delegation


Event Manager

As Event Manager, you are the mastermind behind the logistics of all United Netherlands events. From the First Delegate Meeting in September, the New York Training Week in February to the High School Conference in May: you’re in charge! You like to get things done, plan ahead and ensure everything runs smoothly. Multitasker is your middle name, and you can keep your cool when strict deadlines approach. In the first half of the year, you focus on the Delegation by organizing the institutional visits and UK and USA trip. After Harvard, you take the lead in organizing Graduation, the High School Conference and board transfer events.

External Affairs Manager

As External Affairs Manager, it is your responsibility to make United Netherlands more widely known. You manage the relationships of United Netherlands with external parties that currently exist, but mostly focus on identifying opportunities for new contacts and partnerships with (student) organizations. This includes organizing workshops or trainings for various organizations and reaching promotion agreements with these parties. As the function of External Affairs Manager is still contemporary, you get a lot of freedom to fill this function in your own way. Besides organizing workshops and trainings for external parties, you will look for opportunities to make United Netherlands grow, whether through partnerships or new initiatives, or through acquisition.

Flexible Tasks

Vice-President

The Vice-President is responsible for assisting the President with difficult (strategic) decisions and acting like a soundboard. Additionally, the VP takes care of the personal development and well being of fellow board members. In case the President is absent, you take over duties. During board meetings, the VP takes minutes.

UNMD Executive

The UNMD Executive board member will take on the practical and logistical elements of the UNMD Program. In cooperation with the Program Manager, they run the Friday sessions, manage Delegation briefing and debriefing sessions, and make sure all materials for each training are printed and ready to be used. They also work closely together with the Academic Manager to ensure a quality program.

HSP Executive

The High School Program (HSP) Executive will take on the practical and logistical elements of the HSP. You are the main contact person for potential and participating schools. Finally, you take the lead in organizing the HSPMUN (High School Program MUN conference).

PSP Executive

The Public Speaking Program (PSP) Executive board will take on the practical and logistical elements of the PSP. In cooperation with the Program Manager, you plan the PSP for all relevant cities, arrange training locations, and make sure trainers (once assigned) receive the materials for the trainings in due time. You also work closely together with the Academic Manager to ensure a quality program.
